The final report from the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission will include a recommendation to ban the sale and possession of guns that can fire more than 10 rounds without reloading. The commission, created by Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy to recommend public safety changes in the wake of the 2012 Newtown school shooting, plans to finalize its report next month.
It will include dozens of recommendations intended to improve law enforcement and emergency response; school design and operation; and mental health systems.
The commission has also decided to remove language from the report that would have acknowledged the importance of Connecticut's gun manufacturing industry.
Commissioners agreed to seek permission from families before using any photos of the 26 Sandy Hook victims in the report's dedication.
