Westchester County

After searching for months, Westchester County has a new mental health commissioner.

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino has announced the appointment of Dr. Mark Herceg, a lifelong Westchester resident, as commissioner of Community Mental Health. Herceg, who starts February 2, is Director of Neuropsychology at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains.  He is a professor of psychology in clinical neurology at Weill-Cornell Medical College and a member of the school’s concussion clinic. County Health Commissioner Dr. Sherlita Amler led the Department of Community Mental Health during the search to replace former Mental Health Commissioner Dr. Grant Mitchell.
