Joe Alper

We are joined by two dear friends of our program – who happen to direct organizations in Saratoga Springs AND whose organizations happen to be collaborating this season.

Ian Berry is the Dayton Director at the Tang Museum at Skidmore College and Sarah Craig is the Director and is in charge of booking at Caffé Lena. Ian will tell us about TRANSFORMer – a collaborative, community-specific sculptural installation currently on display at The Tang. He and Sarah will tell us about the exhibition, Caffé Lena: Inside America's Legendary Folk Music Coffeehouse.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
