Schools are open in South Burlington, Vermont, after a mediator says teachers and the school board have reached a tentative agreement following a four-day strike.

Over the weekend, Joseph McNeil said the South Burlington School Board and the South Burlington Educators Association reached an agreement that the board and association members must ratify before it can take effect. He said he couldn't disclose any details.

A message on district's website Monday morning said all South Burlington Schools are back in session.

Superintendent David Young has said the two sides were at odds over pay increases, as well as teachers' contributions to monthly health care premiums.

The teachers went on strike on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
