Cooling Centers Are Open Throughout The Hudson Valley

Cooling centers are open around the region with today’s excessive heat warning. There are many places to find relief from the heat in the Hudson Valley.

Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan has opened the county office building in Kingston. The first floor will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Additionally, there are cooling locations throughout Ulster County. There also are cooling locales throughout Orange and Dutchess Counties. Westchester County Executive George Latimer is keeping county pools and beaches open an extra hour Saturday and Sunday, until 7:30 p.m. In Sullivan County, officials recommend people go to local libraries or public pools, lakes and rivers for relief from the heat.
