The New York state Department of Health has approved expansion plans for a hospital in Kingston.

The state has granted project approval to HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley for the expansion of its hospital on Mary’s Avenue in the city. A HealthAlliance spokesman says it’s the final administrative milestone for the $92.9 million project. The new hospital will feature the addition of a two-story, 79,000-square-foot building adjoining the current facility, as well as renovation of 48,000 square feet within the existing hospital. HealthAlliance is a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network. A construction start date is yet to be determined. The current HealthAlliance Hospital on Broadway in Kingston will be converted into a medical or “health village.”
