New York’s two U.S. senators Wednesday announced federal funding for projects in New York watersheds.

U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced that $13 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture is headed to New York State to partner with the America Farmland Trust to implement conservation projects in the Delaware River Basin watershed. The goal is to improve water quality, the environment, and support wildlife habitat. And for the North Country area, the two senators announced that $16 million is headed to New York and Vermont to implement conservation projects in the Lake Champlain watershed.
