There is a ceremony Monday afternoon in Dutchess County to transfer ownership of a war memorial.

Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro will join members of the Dutchess County War Memorial Committee for a ceremony during which the Committee will officially transfer ownership of the Dutchess County War Memorial to Dutchess County government. The War Memorial, put up 28 years ago, is at the intersection of Main Street and Raymond Avenue Extension in the Town of Poughkeepsie. The non-profit Dutchess County War Memorial Committee had requested that Dutchess County government take responsibility for the maintenance of the memorial and the adjacent parking lot. The Town will continue to provide snow removal and lawn care services. The 1 p.m. ceremony is at American Legion Post 1302.
