The Schenectady City School District says Anibal Soler, Jr. has been selected as the district’s next superintendent. Board of Education members plan to make an official announcement and introduce Soler at a press conference Wednesday at the high school. Soler, who is the superintendent of the Batavia City School District in western New York, is expected to be appointed at the July 7 board meeting.

Aaron Bochniak has been serving as interim superintendent since March 2020 following the abrupt resignation of Larry Spring.

As of January, the Schenectady City School District had more than 9,100 enrolled students.
