The Berkshire Playwrights Lab provides an opportunity for emerging and established playwrights to find a secure berth where they can develop new work and/or explore new avenues of creativity. Founded by Joe Cacaci, Jim Frangione, Bob Jaffe, and Matthew Penn, the Berkshire Playwrights Lab is the area’s only theater dedicated exclusively to encouraging, developing, and presenting new plays.

This Wednesday, July 2nd at 7:30 PM will present a staged-reading of Mother of the Maid – a unique telling of the story of Joan of Arc - by Jane Anderson at The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center.

Here to tell us more are playwright Jane Anderson and BPL founding member and director of the reading of Mother of the Maid, Matthew Penn.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
