An environmental law firm has announced it is expanding its investigation of PFOA contamination to New Hampshire. The announcement comes on the heels of investigations in New York and Vermont.
Consumer advocate Erin Brockovich and law firm Weitz & Luxenberg announced Wednesday they would be extending their investigation to Merrimack, New Hampshire, where traces of the chemical were found in drinking water.
Brockovich worries that PFOA contamination will become a national issue, saying, “Almost every week a new community learns its drinking water is no longer safe.”
With investigations into its facilities in Hoosick Falls, New York and North Bennington, Vermont, company Saint-Gobain reportedly told New Hampshire environmental officials that trace amounts of PFOA were found in samples taken from four faucets.
