Voters in New York’s North Country are choosing a number of local officials today.

In Tupper Lake, incumbent Mayor Paul Maroun, an independent, is being challenged by Republican Eric Shaheen. Sixteen of the 18 seats on the Essex County Board of Supervisors are up for election with four contested. Voters will choose five of the 10 seats on the Clinton County Legislature. And four Plattsburgh common councilors are running uncontested for a new term.

There are uncontested races for Clinton County Treasurer, Clinton County District Attorney and Essex County District Attorney. And a number of local seats such as town council, clerks and highway superintendents in Essex, Franklin and Clinton counties are on the ballot.
