Independent U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and his Republican challenger are offering Vermonters stark choices when they go to the polls next week.
Sanders and Manchester real estate developer Lawrence Zupan met Monday in a radio debate hosted by Vermont Public Radio.

Sanders, who is seeking his third term in the U.S. Senate and is considering a 2020 presidential run, says he has tried to take Vermont values to Washington. He said he has stood up for economic, environmental, and racial justice to create an economy that is, as he puts it, not dominated by people on the top.

Zupan says the free enterprise system has brought more success to more people than any system history. He says Sanders is offering a system of "top-down government control."
