The Berkshire District Attorney says there will be no criminal charges against a Pittsfield police officer who fired at a driver who fled a traffic stop and then drove at the officer.

District Attorney David Capeless said Thursday that the investigation into the shooting involving Officer Martin Streit has been completed. While on foot, Officer Streit fired three shots as a vehicle driven by Mark Marauszwski approached him at Springside Park on January 25. The driver suffered wounds to his hand, forearm and shoulder, according to the DA’s office.

Charges are pending against Marauszwski.
