Mass. Sen. Downing Retiring After A Decade In Office

After a decade in office, Massachusetts State Senator Ben Downing is retiring. The Democrat has represented the Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden District since he was just 25 years old. Downing spoke with WAMC about what’s on his mind as he leaves office. 

Downing is joining the solar energy firm Nexamp as vice president of new market development.

Democrat Adam Hinds was elected in November to take over Downing’s seat.
