The president and CEO of Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield is stepping down at the end of the 2016 season.Linda Steigleder is leaving the historic cultural attraction in November to spend more time with family. During her five-year tenure, Steigleder is credited with establishing a fundraising strategy for $1.5 million in restoration projects and bringing financial stability to the organization following the recession.

“For me personally it was exciting to get to know the donors who were willing to continue to support the museum and interest new people in being supportive of Hancock Shaker Village because it’s a very unique, authentic place,” said Steigleder.

The board of trustees has started a search for Steigleder’s replacement. The Village opens for the season in April.
