Pittsfield’s Human Rights Commission has dismissed a discrimination complaint against Mayor Dan Bianchi made by a black woman last year. The Berkshire Eagle reports the Human Rights Commission unanimously voted to stopinvestigating the matter due to a lack of communication over the past six months with Doreen Wade, the woman making the complaint, and an opinion from the Massachusetts Secretary of State’s office.

Wade alleged Bianchi made racially insensitive comments to her when she sought city assistance to move her internet-based publication from Medford to Pittsfield. Bianchi has consistently denied the claims.

“Unfortunately in our society anybody can accuse anybody else of anything,” Bianchi said in May 2014.

In a records release to iBerkshires, the secretary of state’s office said in a letter that there was no investigation into Wade’s claims.
