The Chittenden County Transportation Authority says it has received a written proposal from its striking drivers that could lead to a resolution of the now four-day strike.

CCTA says they received the proposal Thursday morning and are currently reviewing it.

CCTA said in an e-mail that they have agreed to a mediated meeting this weekend with the union representing about 70 bus drivers.

The drivers went on strike Monday after rejecting a proposed contract and a call by the company for binding arbitration.

The union says the most important issues separating the two sides are working conditions and discipline.

Union officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
