Hudson Mayor Rick Rector and challenger Kamal Johnson face off in Tuesday's Democratic primary.
Rector is nearing the end of his first term. Johnson is the 1st Ward’s Alderman.
The two sparred in debate last month at Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School.
The touched on the city budget, parking, housing, elder care, police-community relations, prosperity and government transparency.
Johnson promises to "stand up for everyone."
"It's important to speak for the people that don't have a voice."
Johnson is endorsed by the Working Families Party.
Rector has endorsements from both the Democratic and Republican parties.
"Coming up with real answers and real solutions is what we're all about."
