Hudson Health Center waiting room

Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood has relocated within Hudson, New York. And a few area lawmakers will be on hand for a ribbon-cutting Monday.

A spokeswoman says that with a need to expand the facility, moving to downtown Hudson on Columbia Street made sense for a few reasons, including better access to transportation. In addition, she says the former location was surrounded by anti-choice organizations. Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood says it had nearly 1,300 visits to its Hudson Health Center in 2018, a 138 percent increase over 2016. Since 2016, the center has expanded its hours. The non-profit organization also has locations in Albany and Troy. Congressman Antonio Delgado and state Assemblymember Didi Barrett, both Democrats, are slated to attend the 11 a.m. ribbon cutting.
