The Ulster County executive has signed an executive order concerning the environment.

Democratic Ulster County Executive Mike Hein says the order renews the county’s commitment to protecting the environment by reducing greenhouse gases. The executive order renews Ulster County’s pledge to purchase 100 percent renewable energy and to operate on a net carbon neutral basis. Plus, it sets a new goal to reduce the county’s greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent by 2025, and 80 percent by 2050. Hein says that going green is as good for the bottom line as it is for the environment.
