There will be a candlelight vigil Wednesday evening in Rockland County in memory of victims of the mass shooting Sunday at an Orlando nightclub.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day says the 5 p.m. vigil will be held on the lawn of the county courthouse on South Main Street in New City. The vigil is being organized by the Rockland Commissioner of Human Rights and will include members of Rockland's faith communities as well as representatives of LGBT groups. All flags on county property are at half mast through Wednesday out of respect for the victims. Day notes that the Florida attack took place on the same day that the annual Rockland Gay Pride event was held in Nyack.
