The clerk for the East Ramapo Central School district in Rockland County is warning of a hoax letter.
A statement issued by East Ramapo School District Clerk Catherine Russell says school district officials are aware of a letter that claims to represent the East Ramapo schools. She says the letter, dated March 17, is on the matter of a May 19 “Private School Education Reimbursement hearing.” Russell says there no such hearing or program and that parents should disregard the letter. She says school officials have referred the letter to authorities. The hoax letter contains errors, including misspelling state Senator David Carlucci’s surname. Carlucci is the sponsor of a bill calling for oversight for the troubled school district.
