Hudson Valley Resident Is Confirmed To Be U.S. Marshal

U.S. Senator Charles Schumer announced Friday that a Rockland County resident has been confirmed to be the next U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of New York.

Senator Schumer says he recommended Michael Greco to President Obama and Obama nominated Greco for the position in November 2014. Schumer, who sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee that has jurisdiction over U.S. Marshal confirmations, says Greco, a first responder on 9/11, was unanimously confirmed and will be the first Latino to the hold the position of U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of New York. Greco currently serves as lieutenant of the New York State Police, a position he has held since 2007. He is a 32-year veteran with the state police.
