Two Albany City School District employees are being let go after allowing a student carrying a loaded gun into school even though he set off a metal detector.
The student reported for a night school class at Albany High's Abrookin Career and Technical Center on Kent Street. The Times Union reports 17-year-old Steven Kramer of Albany faces charges of criminal possession of a weapon, as well as possession of a weapon on school grounds. Surveillance video showed a metal detector alarming after Kramer passed through. Security staff failed to follow protocol, not patting down or wanding Kramer.
