Chelsea Kline, a political newcomer, now appears all but guaranteed to succeed Stan Rosenberg in the Massachusetts Senate.

Kline, a Democrat from Northampton, is the only person who filed nomination papers by Tuesday’s deadline to get on the ballot.

Rosenberg’s resignation after the Ethics Committee found he had failed to protect the Senate from his abusive husband, leaves Kline running unopposed.

WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Kline this morning.
