Capital Region Man Arrested On Drug Charges In Northern New York

Plattsburgh Police arrested a Colonie man this weekend for transporting drugs after a traffic stop on the Adirondack Northway.

The Plattsburgh Police Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the New York State Police stopped a car on Interstate 87 near the Peru exit Sunday as part of an investigation into the sale and transport of drugs in the region.  

During a search of the car police say they found and seized 560 bags of a heroin/fentanyl mixture with a street value over $12,000.

38-year-old Jeremy Williams of Colonie, New York was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a felony, arraigned and released to a pre-trial release program.
