Funiciello Will Not Make Third Run For Congress

The Green candidate who twice ran for northern New York’s congressional seat announced late Tuesday afternoon that he will not run a third campaign.
Matt Funiciello ran for Congress in 2014 and 2016.  In a Tuesday afternoon email Funiciello urges voters to vote green and says “I know two great people who are serious about running but who are not ready to announce yet. It is with some very real regret that I will not be our candidate in this upcoming 2018 race.”  He cites the time and expense of running a campaign. There are currently 4 Democrats and one Republican challenging incumbent Republican Elise Stefanik in the 21st Congressional District race.
