Former Assemblywoman Janet Duprey
NYS Assembly

Former New York Assemblywoman Janet Duprey will be honored during Plattsburgh’s annual Mayor’s Cup festivities next weekend.

Since 2010 the organizers of the Mayor’s Cup Regatta, the largest sailboat race on Lake Champlain, have named a “"Spirit of Ianelli" honoree.

The award is named after a former mayor of the city who co-founded the sailing race. It is given to someone who exemplifies community spirit and empowerment.

Retired Assemblywoman Janet Duprey, a Republican who spent a decade in the Assembly, will receive the award for her “lifetime of service to the community” during a ceremony Saturday evening during the competition’s awards ceremony.
