Plattsburgh Mayor James Calnon announced today that he is running for re-election and will seek a second term in November.
The independent mayor of Plattsburgh says he wants to continue working on unfinished business including expansion of the marina, waterfront and beach development.  Calnon believes the governor’s downtown revitalization initiation could revitalize the city center and enhance retail space.    “There’s enough undone stuff that I’ve decided I want to try again.  We’ve made some great strides towards being the kind of a city where people want to live and want to work and want to visit.  We need to continue to do those things.”

Calnon was first sworn in as mayor in January 2014. Under last year’s charter reform, the next mayoral term will four years.
