The Essex County Board of Supervisors decided not to reappoint the current county manager at their meeting Monday – because the county manager was only mid-way through his contracted term.
A resolution before Essex County leaders would have reappointed County Manager Dan Palmer to a two year term.  But it was withdrawn when supervisors realized that he was already in the middle of a two year term.

The Plattsburgh Press Republican reports that a three percent pay raise was approved for Palmer and most county employees.

Palmer told the newspaper he will continue to follow a five year recovery plan that will stabilize the county budget by 2018.
