Hundreds marched across the SUNY Plattsburgh campus Monday to bring awareness to discrimination diversity issues at the college.
Hundreds of students and faculty walked peacefully across campus for the Let’s Get Uncomfortable March sponsored by AKEBA, the college’s black student union.  As they marched they called for change and diversity awareness.

Prompted by the publication of a racially insensitive cartoon in the student newspaper many,  including Psychology Senior Gennovva Pham, say students will no longer allow discrimination to be ignored.  “We need change and in order to bring change we need to start having conversations.”

Students of color say more diversity courses and awareness efforts are needed on the northern New York campus.
