U.S. Congresswoman-elect Elise Stefanik has been appointed to serve on two House committees. The Republican from New York’s north country’s 21st District was appointed to the Armed Services Committee and the Education and the Workforce Committee yesterday. Stefanik, 30, is the youngest woman ever elected to Congress after defeating Democrat Aaron Wolf and Green Party candidate Matt Funiciello in November. Stefanik is replacing the retiring Democrat Bill Owens.
