Schools get some funds directly to customize spending plans

The largest public school district in western Massachusetts has a new budget in place.

The Springfield School Committee unanimously voted to adopt a $588 million budget for the fiscal year that starts July 1st.

WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with School Committee member Chris Collins, who chairs the body’s Finance Committee.
