The Lake George Park Commission has released a report on its 2019 Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Program.

Six years into the mandatory boat inspection program, no new aquatic invasive plants or animal species were discovered in the southern Adirondack lake.
The report issued Friday says about 16 percent of boats of the more than 33,000 receiving an inspection last year did not meet the “clean, drained, and dry” standard of the program.
In 2019, 163 boats came through boat inspection stations contaminated with visible invasive species, including Eurasian watermilfoil, zebra mussels, and water chestnut.
