Built in the 1750s by the French as a defense against the British, what is known today as Fort Ticonderogastood at the center of two wars and five battles. Today the fort on Lake Champlain welcomes more than 75,000 visitors a year to northern New York. 

WAMC’s Jim Levulis spoke with Fort President and CEO Beth Hill about leading the 2,000-acre site.
