Police in the City of Troy have released video of a fatal officer-involved shooting that took place last August.

Officers Joshua Comitale and Chad Klein were injured in the shootout with Thaddeus Faison in the city's Lansingburgh neighborhood after an attempted carjacking.

The video shows Faison shoot into Officer Klein's vehicle before exchanging gunfire with Comitale.

Joined by members of the faith community on Friday, police chief John Tedesco said the public has a right to know exactly what happened.

"It's public servants, they took a life. I think it's important to [see what] the officers encountered. I think it's important they see the relationships that we have with members of the community, and that...there's nothing to hide here," said Tedesco.

Pastor Cornelius Clark of Holy Serenity Church of God In Christ said he could not see anything from the video to contradict the police department’s account.
