Solid Sound, the biennial music festival curated by Wilco on the grounds of MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts, will not happen this summer.

According to a post from the Solid Sound festival on social media, pandemic concerns have quashed the weekend of concerts at the sprawling modern art museum.

The last festival in June 2019 featured performances from organizers Wilco, as well as Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett, cerebral Chicago post-rock vets Tortoise,  Massachusetts rock legend Jonathan Richman and more. It sold out with more than 8,000 tickets sold.

The post says that Solid Sound “will use this extended time off to plan the best rendition of the festival yet” for early summer 2022. In 2019, MASS MoCA estimated that the festival had an impact of around $2 million on the North Adams economy.
