Vermont Republican Governor Phil Scott has made it official: he is seeking a third two-year term.
Scott announced Thursday morning that he is running for re-election, submitting his paperwork hours before the 5 p.m. deadline.

Scott wrote on Facebook that “…these are not normal times and this will not be a normal campaign…. I will not be campaigning in the traditional way while we are in the midst of our response to this pandemic.” Scott says he won’t raise money, open a campaign office or hire staff, or participate in normal campaign events.

Scott faces John Klar in the August Republican primary. Three Democrats are running.
