Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who is seeking the Democratic nomination for president, released letters from three physicians on Monday that say he is fit to serve in the nation’s highest office.
Sanders’ campaign says the candidate underwent additional tests and continuous EKG monitoring since he had stents placed in a coronary artery in early October after a heart attack.

Three physicians, including Congress’ attending physician and two cardiologists from the University of Vermont Medical Center, submitted letters affirming the Senator’s ability to campaign and serve if elected president.

Sanders’ primary physician wrote that his “..overall test performance was rated above average compared to a reference population of the same age.” Sanders is 78.
