Massachusetts State Representative John Barrett headed to Beacon Hill after a special election victory last November to finish out the late Gailanne Cariddi’s term. After 26 years as the mayor of North Adams, the Democrat had a lot to learn about life in the statehouse. With the his first legislative session behind him, Barrett tells WAMC he’s learned a lot.
