Police in Pittsfield, Massachusetts have been in the headlines this summer after several high-profile incidents. The latest involved a domestic dispute Friday that ended with a knife-wielding man shot and killed by police. WAMC’s Berkshire Bureau Chief JD Allen sat down with Mayor Linda Tyer, who defends Pittsfield law enforcement.

Friday's incident was the third shooting of a suspect by a Pittsfield officer since 2010, and the second by Officer Christopher Colello, who is now on administrative leave.
