Man Shot By Pittsfield Police During Domestic Incident

Pittsfield police shot a man who allegedly barricaded himself in his ex-girlfriend’s home. 

Police Chief Michael Wynn told area media, officers responded to a domestic incident on Taylor Street around 12:50 p.m. Friday. After officers arrived at the home, the man, identified as 36-year-old Daniel Gillis, ran out of the house at officers. Wynn says one officer shot the man. Gillis was taken to Berkshire Medical Center. He has died.

The Berkshire County District Attorney’s office is investigating.
