Vermont’s Secretary of State is clarifying that he will not release private and sensitive voter information to President Trump’s Election Integrity Commission.

Vermont Secretary of State Jim Condos issued a statement Friday saying that while he was uncomfortable, he was bound by law to provide publicly available voter information to the commission.

On Monday, he issued a new release noting that he had heard from Vermonters concerned that personal information would be turned over to the Trump commission.

Condos says: “Vermont will NOT be complying with the Commission’s request for …. sensitive information. Social Security numbers, dates of birth and driver’s license numbers are all off limits.”

Condos also says he will explore ways to avoid assisting what he calls a sham commission.
