Great Barrington, Massachusetts is upgrading commercial and residential spaces downtown.

Two different projects are under way in downtown Great Barrington, offering mixed-use retail and market-rate apartments.

A $7 million redevelopment project at 47 Railroad St. will feature a mix of street-level shops with apartments over them. Rent for one of the13 apartments will be roughly $2,200 a month.

The earliest that project’s expected to be finished is March 2018.

Another redevelopment project at the new Powerhouse Square will have 49 condominiums, and will expand the Berkshire Co-op Market. Phase one of that $15 million project will break ground later this summer.
