Connecticut’s Secretary of State wants to repeal a statute that allows political parties to expel members for a “lack of good-faith party affiliation.” The so-called “party purging” is done by working with town voter registrars. Secretary of State Denise Merrill says her office recently learned about the statute. The Democrat spoke with WAMC’s Jim Levulis about her effort to repeal it.
