Great Barrington is holding an open house for residents to learn more about the town’s first ever community preservation projects which are up for approval at May’s annual town meeting.Great Barrington’s Community Preservation Committee has recommended nine projects out of 22 applications to receive combined town and state funding. The projects total nearly $890,000 including community housing, historic preservation and open space and recreation. Chris Rembold is Great Barrington’s town planner.

“These are projects that probably wouldn’t get funded otherwise or they would take much longer to actually be realized,” said Rembold.

The open house begins at 2 Saturday at St. James Place on Main Street in Great Barrington.
