In an undeniable sign of spring, North Adams is finally lifting its winter parking ban following a long, cold season. With the restriction perhaps surprisingly still in effect as of April 8th, Mayor Richard Alcombright’s office sent an automated message Wednesday night explaining the parking ban is no more.

“The mayor wants to thank all residents for their cooperation during this very cold, snowy and difficult winter,” said the recording.

North Adams and other nearby communities experienced multiple water main breaks and frozen pipesduring the cold winter. Area temperatures hovered around the freezing mark Thursday morning.
