Funeral Today For Connecticut Firefighter

The funeral for a Connecticut firefighter who died in the line of duty is expected to draw scores of firefighters from across the region.Services for Kevin Bell are set for 11 a.m. Monday at First Cathedral Church in Bloomfield. Calling hours start one hour before the funeral.

The 48-year-old Bell died in a fire Tuesday evening in Hartford's North End. Three other firefighters were injured. Bell was the first Hartford firefighter to die in the line of duty in 40 years. Residents of the house got out safely.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jason Martinez, one of the three injured firefighters, remains hospitalized. The other firefighters were discharged.
