A Connecticut theatre company is moving north into western Massachusetts. The Aglet Theatre Company announced Dewey Hall in Sheffield, Massachusetts will be its new venue starting this fall. Currently based in Sharon, Connecticut, the company, which specializes in theatrical stage readings, was founded nine years in Salisbury. Artistic Director Macey Levin says increasing rent at the Bok Gallery in Sharon and the intimacy of Dewey Hall made Sheffield feel like a good place to be.

“There’s a larger population there so it will be a larger pool to draw from for our audience and for our talent,” said Levin.

As a result of the move, Aglet will offer only three shows over this next year, two in the fall and one in the spring, down from its usually five or six. The company will continue to present readings at The Moviehouse in Millerton, New York.
